South American Leader in the Ceramics Industry

A leader in the ceramics industry in South America, with exports to the US, Europe and Asia, had committed to a deep reengineering process. While they were capable of doing some basic process improvement on their own, they were baffled at the myriad processes that, as a diversified multi-industry group, faced the organization.

EDI used process improvement methodology that enabled prioritization of processes based on their contribution to business imperatives.

The methodology also identified process owners, process teams and, by involving the client executives in the design team, calmed political resistance to change.

The client applied the process improvement methodology to key processes from that point on. Other clients prefer to have the EDI consultants continue the process improvement to the end, including structured follow-up and implementation stages. This area is one of EDI’s major strengths.
